In challenging times, it’s important that we rise to meet the challenge. As the country, and the world, deals with the COVID-19 outbreak, we are continuing to adapt our operations so that we can keep serving you, your loved ones, and the needs of our local communities.
As a reminder, the state governments have implemented visitor restrictions across all our communities including family, volunteers, and non-essential health care personnel. Patio and porch visitations are now restricted. We have canceled or postponed all group activities and communal dining, as well as non-essential transportation services. We are also screening every community employee for fever and respiratory symptoms each day prior to resident contact and have provided each community with evaluation criteria should a resident or employee be suspected of having COVID-19.
If you do not have means to see or talk to your loved one and would like to visit, you may do so one of two ways.
- You can schedule a Facetime or Skype call with our Activity Directors at each community.
- We strongly recommend our residents remain on community property and refrain from in-person interactions outside or off-property. But residents may choose to have a family member pick them up and take them off campus for family visits or to make appointments.
Please be aware, for the safety of all who live and work in our communities, we will enforce the 14-day screening recommendations provided by the CDC. This means if a resident leaves the community (for any reason), upon that resident’s return they will be screened for COVID-19 related symptoms twice a day for 14 consecutive days. This clock will reset each time the resident leaves the community or has contact with those that are not considered staff or a resident.
Community Senior Life wants to be fully transparent about the communications we're sending to our residents, and to ensure all residents and families are aware of our processes and why certain restrictions are in place. Thank you for trusting your loved one in our care and thank you for your continued support and adherence to these policies. We are doing everything in our power to keep our residents comfortable, safe, and happy.
